In 2012, Elk Grove provided some of it’s own talent for the seventh season of popular television show, America’s Got Talent. Performing Artist David Garibaldi auditioned in Elk Grove and his unique act took him all the way to the show’s finals where he placed fourth in the nationwide televised talent show. With America’s Got Talent making another stop in Elk Grove Illinois in the month of May, the eyes of the nation will be focused on our beautiful city yet again with many wondering what talent we will offer up to American viewers this year.
On America’s Got Talent
As a youth in Sacramento, David Garibaldi found he had a penchant for painting and the visual arts. As a young and angst-ridden teen, his predilection for painting took the form of illegal graffiti on many public spaces in Sacramento. As he continued to grow as an artist, Garibaldi also developed a deep love of music.
The talent which Garibaldi showcased on America’s Got Talent incorporated his love for both visual artistry and music. Performing under his stage name, Rhythm and Hue, Garibaldi sought to entertain audiences by combining painting, music, and dance to create beautiful portraits and unique works of art. Upon showcasing his talents and unique act on America’s Got Talent when the show stopped by the Rosemont Theater as part of their season seven talent search, audiences fell in love with Garibaldi leading to his fourth place finish in the nationwide talent competition and his spot performing with America’s Got Talent in Las Vegas.
This year, America’s Got Talent will be stopping by the Rosemont Theater again, and many Elk Grove Residents are hoping for a repeat of last year.
